Heavy rain in north India impacts the running of 20 trains, disrupting rail services.
According to Northern Railway, twenty trains have had their operations hampered so far because of the nation's constant rain. Train service has been delayed or canceled in various locations due to landslides and floods.
Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, and other northern regions continue to experience severe rainfall as the monsoon has reached its height. For the previous two days, Delhi has also seen significant rains. In the early hours of Sunday, there was a landslide and a flash flood in Chota Dharra and Gramphu village.In Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, a family's home fell on Sunday as a result of severe rain, killing all three members of the family and injuring several others.
According to Financial Express, Central train installed water pumps and used micro-tunnelling to handle train operations during the monsoon's severe rains. At more than 16 susceptible places, the CR installed more than 166 water pumps. In addition to this, the central railway zone undertook micro tunneling work at eight places, including a mosque, Sandhurst Road, the Dadar-Parel neighborhood, and others. On its suburban portion, more than 118.48 km of drains were also de-silted. Tree pruning, muck removal, and culvert cleaning were also done to prevent issues brought on by excessive rain.
