According to a suggestion made on Tuesday to the IOA's ad hoc panel, Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia should be dropped from India's Asian Games roster if they fail the next World Championships trials.
Punia (men's freestyle 65kg) and Phogat (women's 53kg) were given direct entries for the quadrennial showpiece, while other competitors in the other 16 Olympic weight categories underwent taxing trials on July 22-23 to secure their spots in the Indian team for the Hangzhou Games, starting on September 23. The wrestling community was outraged by the IOA ad-hoc panel's decision to conduct trials but exclude Punia and Phogat, claiming bias in the decision.
"We will suggest to the tribunal that Bajrang and Vinesh should only be sent to the Asian Games if they win the World Championship trials; else, they should not.
"Vishal Kaliraman, the victor of the Asian Games trial, will go if Bajrang loses the trial," said Gian Singh, a member of the panel, to PTI.
As of right now, Kaliraman (men's freestyle 65 kg) and Antim Panghal (women's 53 kg) are on standby due to their victories in the Asian Games trials in Bajrang and Vinesh's respective weight classes.

पैनल के सदस्य जियान सिंह ने पीटीआई से कहा, ''अगर बजरंग ट्रायल हार जाते हैं तो एशियाई खेलों के ट्रायल के विजेता विशाल कालीरमन चले जाएंगे।''
फिलहाल, कालीरमन (पुरुष फ्रीस्टाइल 65 किग्रा) और एंटीम पंघाल (महिला 53 किग्रा) एशियाई खेलों के ट्रायल में बजरंग और विनेश के संबंधित वजन वर्गों में जीत के कारण स्टैंडबाय पर हैं।
